The only OPTX ball we had to compare with weighed 1 gram less than the ARX ball we tested. Both balls were well with in the 260-280 gram official weight range. Our test ARX ball did seem a bit more bouncy and did get an egg shape by the second day of play. My 11 and under boys say it is easier on their arms.
